Computer Hardware
Basically, all computers have the same types of computer hardware: central processing unit, memory, storage, input/output devices, and some type of telecommunication device.
The central processing unit (CPU) is the part of a computer where all computations are performed.
Memory is the part of a computer where instructions and data are held while being worked on.
Most computers use a magnetic device called hard drive for storage.
Input/output (I/O) devices enable communication between a computer and the person using it. Input device include the keyboard, mouse, and scanner. Output device include the monitor, printer, and speaker.
Telecommunication devices enable computer users exchange information with one another. The telecommunication devices include regular telephone modems, cable modems, wireless modems, and DSL (digital subscriber line) telephone modems.
